In exceptional years the river though the farm does become a raging torrent.

This is winter but during droughts the river is still capable of feeding
the Cattle for 6 months during summer.

The reeds on which the Cattle thrive all along the river can clearly be seen.

Most of the pumping has been stopped so as to store as much
natural water as possible.

Dams have been built not for irrigation but to store as much water
on the property as possible.

Fountains like these filling smaller dams and creating lush growth are the
result of bigger dams storing water and not being used for irrigation.
